Lapierre has signed a contract for the next two seasons with the female cycling team: FDJ, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, Futuroscope. This collaboration marks the start of a new era in top end women’s cycling competition for the brand.
For Gilles Lapierre, it shows Lapierre’s strong engagement towards the female cycling community, which needs greater recognition and media support: "Cycling is becoming more and more popular with women and we are delighted by this. With this new partnership, our objective is to aid the team to progress at the highest levels".
The all-female team is the uncontested leader in French women’s cycling, and the only French team in the UCI Women’s World Tour. Saturday, the 26th of November the team revealed their new sponsors, including the FDJ and Lapierre (the team was previously called PC Futuroscope 86.
Stéphen Delcourt, Manager of the Equipe FDJ, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, Futuroscope, is thrilled with the opportunities this partnership offers:

It’s also an honour for our competitors to ride on these prestigious French machines, from one of the great cycling brands. Our riders will be equipped with high end Xelius SL frames for the road, and Aerostorm DRS for Time Trials, in the same manner as the FDJ cycling team".
With the new partnerships in place the team is aiming for a top ten worldwide ranking (currently classed in the top 15 UCI Women Elite).
